The Voki Speaking Avatar is a plugin, provided by Voki.com, which provides a small box on the page with a character that can speak any text or audio that you set up the plugin with.  Most of the setup is done at Voki.com, but once you have created one of these characters, follow these instructions to publish this character on your page.

  1. Once you've set up your Voki character here, click the "Publish" button, in the lower right corner.

  2. Once published, you'll see this screen, which has a field that has the embed code you need.  Click the "Copy" button to copy the code to your clipboard.

  3. Finally, in the page you want to place your Voki character, click the Edit tab to get into editing mode.

  4. Then, click the Insert button in the editor toolbar, and choose the "Voki Speaking Ava

  5. Paste the code you copied from Voki.com into this plugin, and then click the Next button.

  6. Click Insert Plugin, and then save the workspace page.

Teachers can use this plugin to narrate their pages, so that students who have trouble reading can follow along with the text on the page.  To accomplish this, the plugin would have to be set up with the same text that is on the page.  Any changes to the text on the page would have to be reflected in the plugin as well.
