The Equation plugin lets users of your workspace insert formulas that cannot be easily typed on a keyboard.  The plugin uses the LaTeX format, which is a standard markup language that mathematicians use to share formulas.  More informaion on LaTeX can be found here.

Please note:  This plugin (when used multiple times on one page) can cause significant delays in page load times.  While it's fine to use it to display 1-10 equations, if you need more equations, please use an external LaTeX editor and upload the equations as images.  Then, you can simply upload the images and use them in your page.

Once you have the LaTeX code you want to embed, follow these instructions:

  1. Go into edit mode on your workspace by clicking the "Edit" tab.

  2. Click the "Insert" button and choose the "Equation" plugin from the "More Plugins -> Teaching Tools" category.

  3. By default, there's a sample equation in the editor.  Clear this information, and type in the LaTeX code that you want to display.  Then Click "Next".

  4. Click "Insert Plugin" and then save your page.
